Better Sleep Habits

It’s well-known that sleep is essential to our physical and mental health. But despite its importance, a large percentage of people find themselves regularly deprived of quality of sleep and are notably sleepy during the day. For many people, trying to implement all these strategies can be overwhelming. But remember that it’s not all-or-nothing; you can start with small changes and work your way up toward healthier sleep habits, also known as sleep hygiene. While you might not be able to control the factors that interfere with your sleep, you can adopt habits that encourage better sleep. Start with these simple tips to help you get better sleep at night.

1) Limit your screen time 1-2 hours before going to sleep.

2) Make sure you get direct sunlight daily.

3) Try to get some exercise every day.

4) Drink some warm tea before going to bed.

5) Practice deep breathing throughout the day.

6) Use meditation apps like Calm, Headspace, and Smiling Mind.
