Brain Waves

Meet Chris

“Therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating.”

I’m Chris Sanchez Lascurain, a somatic psychotherapist. I help adults—including empaths and members of the LGBTQIA2+ community—find relief and confidence through talk therapy combined with gentle, body‑based techniques. We go at your pace, focusing on what matters most to you, so you can feel calmer, more in control and more connected to your own body.

I view healing as a collaboration between mind and body; together we’ll explore emotional and physical experiences in fresh ways. Every journey is tailored to your unique strengths and needs, integrating somatic awareness, mindfulness and structured plans to achieve your goals and reshape old patterns.

Watch Your Mindfulness Practice

“Take a few deep breaths and settle in. This mindfulness practice combines awareness of breath and a gentle body scan to help you notice your thoughts and sensations with curiosity and kindness. If your mind wanders, that’s okay—just bring it back to the present moment.”

There are five categories of brain waves: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and Theta. Each brain wave is associated with a different kind of thinking or activity. There are five types of mindfulness practices, Awareness of Breath, Body Scan, Cultivating Compassion, Mindful Movement, and Walking Meditation that have been researched to reduce stress.

What You’ll Learn

Chris combines his love of brain waves and mindfulness to make meditation fun and approachable. In this practice you will:

  • Become more aware of the present moment by focusing on breath, sensations and compassionate thoughts.

  • Gently scan your body to notice tension or ease without judgement.

  • Cultivate compassion by sending kind thoughts to yourself and others.

With regular practice, mindfulness can help you stay grounded, quiet mental chatter and reconnect with your body. Studies suggest it improves quality of life and reduces psychological stress
